Included in your pets Individual Cremation Service is their inked paw print and/ or a lock of their hair.

It is completely up to you and your family as to whether you would like to have one or both. If you choose to have them they will be placed within the Certificate of Cremation.

Inked Paw Prints

To take your pets inked paw print we wipe some ink across the pad and then place it down on to paper to take the print. We then scan the print onto the computer and position it in the certificate. If there is a specific paw you would like the print from (perhaps they shake on this leg or they only have three toes?) or you would like more than one paw printed, just let our staff know.

If you are planning a tattoo of your pets paw print, we can arrange a print out for your artist to work from, again just let the staff know and we will arrange it for you.

For some pets, a nose print is an option. It doesn’t come out well for all breeds however if it is something you would like more information about, the girls will be happy to talk to you about it.

Locks of Hair/fur

To collect a lock of hair from your pet we first select the best place to gather this from then use a small elastic to separate it before gently cutting it off. The lock is then tied off with a ribbon and secured into the Certificate of Cremation.  We do our best to gather a lock of hair that best represents your pet- whether that be curls or different colours. It is not always possible to have every colour in the lock, however if it is really important to you we can shave a tiny amount into a little bag for you to keep. For very short haired pets, this would also be the process.

We know that having to trust someone to look after your precious pet can be really hard. We take great pride in spending the time to ensure that your pet is cared for respectfully every step of the way. From the moment they are in our care, we treat them with the same dignity and respect that we would expect for our own.
